Meet the Family
Welcome to our new website! You won’t visit here for profound advice on life. We are just a family who loves travelling, entertaining, baking, photography, and creativity. You might find an idea that sparks interest or a landscape that you want to visit. You may discover new friends come from the strangest places. Maybe you just need to get away for a minute and look at pictures of our travels- we don’t go far, but hope to someday. Hopefully, you find a little humor in the craziness of our lives.
Meet the family:
Wendy: Born and raised in Marshall County, Tennessee, I was the fourth of five children. We were country and rich in the important things in life: fresh air, hills, creeks, and family. My parents owned a country store in Ostella and most of my childhood memories are found in that old building with the wood heater surrounded by old men spitting tobacco and whittling away the days solving all of the world’s problems. They were bigger gossips than any group of women I have ever been around. I was the first in my family, including first cousins to go to and graduate from college, getting a degree in education. I became a teacher at the same school I started kindergarten and ended senior year. I was only away for 5 years (four for college and one to take a break) and have been there ever since! I am currently a 7th grade math teacher. Jamey and I married in 1997 in Vegas and were blessed to have our daughter, Jenna in 2009. We live in a 120 year old house, our fixer-upper that has never been fixed up, near the center of our little town. One of my favorite things to do is photography. I am no expert and often have to research a setting I need to achieve the effect I desire, but have so much fun trying to figure it out and succeeding. On my page, you will find photos, travel, education, and life!
Jamey: Born and raised in Murray County, Georgia, I was the third of four children. Mom was a nurse for most of my life and Dad was a truck driver, owned a store, worked in various roles in the carpet industry, owned a concrete plant for a minute and then worked at one, and for years worked at North Georgia speedway every Saturday night, usually on track’s back pit gate. I played baseball and football in elementary and middle school before becoming a band geek in high school. I moved to Tennessee in 1996 after meeting Wendy and she told you the rest. I have been in technology as a hobby for 40+ yrs and professionally for the past 25 or so, spent a few extra years figuring out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I currently work as a software engineer, and have been that for the past 15 years. I also bake on the side usually cheesecakes. I have catered BBQ and still occasionally make a batch of sauces when relatives ask.
Jenna: Jenna is our rainbow baby. She was born a miracle after several years of losses, disappointments and lots of money, but in the end….she just happened, and our persistence saved her. She is willful, spirited, creative, and smart about everything except school work! She hates it. Through Jenna, we have learned a lot about ADHD and ASD. She is such a tech and animation geek, she amazes us. Jenna loves art and music, science, animals, travelling and playing games on her iPad or switch. Our hope is that she will put some energy into expressing her opinions on her favorite topics on her page. The thing about Jenna, you either accept her for who she is and love her, or you don’t and you still love her!
